Improve The Shape And Position of Your Lips
As you get older, you may notice the shape and position of your lips change. Your upper lips may elongate and take away from the beauty of your lips and smile. The good news is that you can restore the youthfulness of your lips with a lip lift.
A lip lift removes a portion of the skin under your nose and gently reshapes it to create a lifted look. This treatment may be just what you need to enhance your face and feel more confident in your own skin.
Lip Lift Treatment
During a lip lift, Dr. Schalit will make a precise incision on the base of your nose and follow your natural creases. He will then pull your upper lip, remove any excess tissue, and place sutures. In most cases, a lip lift is performed under local anesthesia.

Am I a Good Candidate for a Lip Lift?
You may be a good candidate for a lip lift:
- If you are in reasonably good health and at least 18 years old.
- If your upper lip is longer than you’d like it to be.
- If you’d like to restore the youthfulness of your lips.
- If you hope to lift your lips upward rather than outward.

How Long Does a Typical Treatment Take?
In most cases, a lip lift can be completed in 1 to 2 hours.
What Results Will I See?*
Patients treated with a lip lift often see:
- More youthful lips.
- Teeth that are visible during smiling.
- Thicker, fuller-looking lips.
Is There Any Downtime?
After a lip lift, you may face a bit of swelling for up to 72 hours, which can be improved with the use of cold compresses. Dr. Schalit can prescribe pain medication to ease any pain or discomfort you may experience.
You can expect your sutures to be removed in 5 to 7 days after the procedure. Complete healing typically takes anywhere between six and 12 weeks. If you have a lighter skin tone and thinner lips, you’ll likely recover quicker than a patient with darker skin and thicker lips.
Lip Augmentation vs. Lip Lift
A lip augmentation is performed to produce fuller lips while a lip lift is intended to improve the shape and position of the lips. Dr. Schalit can help you determine which procedure is right for your unique goals.
