What is a Cheek Lift?
A cheek lift – which is also commonly referred to as a mid-face lift – is a cosmetic procedure designed to improve the appearance of sagging cheeks and the lower eyelid regions. This surgery is an excellent solution for patients who may have seen their facial volume disappear or their cheeks flatten; when this occurs, the patient’s face may appear hollow or undereye bags more pronounced.
A cheek lift may be an ideal choice for patients who may need more than a facial filler to improve their aging symptoms.

How is a Cheek Lift Performed?
A cheek lift is performed by making key incisions within the hairline of the temple, which allows Dr. Schalit to access the fat pads within your cheeks. Suture loops will be placed through these pads and then lifted, thus bringing your facial fat back to their youthful positions. The repositioning can also minimize the appearance of nasolabial folds, giving the patient a younger and more rested look.
Am I a Good Candidate for a Cheek Lift?
You’re a good candidate for a cheek lift if you have significant sagging in the mid-facial region and won’t see your best results with dermal fillers alone. You should be a healthy nonsmoker or at least plan on quitting at least two weeks before the procedure.
What are Typical Results of a Cheek Lift?*
Results from a cheek lift procedure include fuller, rounder-looking cheeks, a more symmetrical mid-facial region, and improved undereye bags. Some patients may even see significant improvement of their nasolabial folds.
What Kind of Post-Operative Cheek Lift Care Can I Expect?
The recovery takes two to three weeks. Most people resume their light to normal activities within two weeks, although this may depend on Dr. Schalit’s recommendations. Pain is minimal and is controlled with medications. Bruising may occur around the eyes, hairline, and cheeks, but begins to fade within a few days. Discoloration usually disappears in two weeks.*
