Coolsculpting® Elite and CoolTone® are two of the most popular body contouring treatments available. But what are the differences? And which should you get?

What is Coolsculpting® Elite?

Coolsculpting® is a popular cosmetic treatment created by Allergan, a world-renowned cosmetic brand. This technology has been designed to reduce fat in specific areas of the body. It works by placing fatty deposits in a device that chills fat cells to the point where they freeze and lose their structure. Over the following days and weeks, the body naturally recycles them, removing them from the target region for good.

Coolsculpting® Elite is Allergan’s latest version of this treatment, freezing up to twice the area of fat with the new dual applicators. It is currently the only FDA-cleared procedure to eliminate stubborn fat in nine different areas of the body, including things, abdomen, buttocks and flanks.

What is CoolTone®?

CoolTone® is another therapy from Allergan designed to tone the body’s muscles. However, the way it works is entirely different. CoolTone® uses Active Magnetic Pulse™ (AMP™) to activate muscles non-invasively through the skin. Over time, the stimulation tones, firms and strengthens from the outside, without the need for conscious effort. In other words, you can achieve the body you want without the gym or sweat.

Similarities Between Coolsculpting® Elite and CoolTone®

Both Coolsculpting® Elite and CoolTone® are great options for patients wanting to enhance the effects of their positive lifestyle and exercise choices. Sometimes, these procedures can provide the final push you need to get the body of your dreams when diet and physical activity aren’t enough. Both are non-invasive and have no associated downtime.

Differences Between Coolsculpting® Elite and CoolTone®

There are, however, some substantial differences between Coolsculpting® Elite and CoolTone®.

Coolsculpting® Elite, for instance, is a fat reduction procedure, while CoolTone® is for muscle strengthening and tone. As discussed, Coolsculpting® Elite uses the power of cooling to deliver its effects, while CoolTone® uses magnetic pulses. This means that Coolsculpting® Elite targets fat deposits while CoolTone® activates muscle cells.

Benefits of Coolsculpting® Elite and CoolTone®

Dr. Schalit identifies multiple benefits from Coolsculpting® Elite and CoolTone®:

  • A more perfect physique: Sometimes diet and exercise alone don’t produce the results you want. But Coolsculpting® Elite and CoolTone® can provide that additional push you need to get the body of your dreams.
  • Non-invasive: Unlike other forms of body contouring, Coolsculpting® Elite and CoolTone® are entirely non-invasive and, therefore, have no associated downtime for recovery.
  • Natural-looking results: They also produce wholly natural looking results so that you can get the best version of your body possible.

Am I a Candidate for Coolsculpting® Elite and/or CoolTone®?

If you are following a healthy diet and lifestyle and need that last finish push, then Coolsculpting® Elite and/or CoolTone® with Dr. Schalit could help.

Patients with cold agglutinin disease, or paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria should not receive Coolsculpting® Elite treatment and should seek alternative fat reduction therapies. Likewise, CoolTone® is not suitable for patients with implanted devices, such as cardiac pacemakers, implanted hearing devices or implanted defibrillators.

This office has hands down, the most outstanding, knowledgeable, and helpful staff. From my 1st phone call to my visits with Dr. Schalit are top notch. Thank you to Dr. Schalit for always taking good care of me!!
