As we age, our skin naturally loses its elasticity. Brow lifts improve the appearance of your forehead and eyebrows by raising them to a more favorable position, reducing the visible signs of aging on your face.
How Does a Brow Lift Work?
Collagen and elastin deficiencies and our facial muscles weakening as we grow older can lead to wrinkles and loose skin. A brow lift is a cosmetic procedure that lifts the sagging skin on the forehead and surrounding the eyes, restoring a youthful look to your face.
Dr. Schalit will perform an endoscopic brow lift using multiple incisions made behind the hairline. Through these small incisions, he will lift the forehead tissues to a more youthful position that reduces sagging and creates a brighter, more alert appearance. All brow lifts are performed under anesthesia, and depending on the specific procedure, scalp tissue will either be removed or readjusted to produce the best results.

Am I a Candidate for a Brow Lift?
Anyone who is experiencing forehead wrinkles or lowering eyelids may be a good candidate for a brow lift. Ideal brow lift candidates have moderate to severe drooping and sagging along their brow line and are non-smokers or are willing to quit for two weeks prior to the procedure. Men who are balding or have a family history of male pattern baldness and women with high hairlines may be advised against a brow lift procedure.
If you are concerned about drooping around the eyes, Dr. Schalit may recommend an eyelid lift instead of or in addition to your brow lift. An eyelid lift targets the upper eyelids, removing and tightening excess skin to rejuvenate your appearance and even improve your field of vision.

What Results Should I Expect with a Brow Lift?
After your brow lift, you will immediately notice a difference in your appearance, but your final results will only be apparent once the swelling and bruising subside within a few weeks. Once fully healed, you can expect improvements in your eyebrow elevation by two to four millimeters and a significant reduction in the number of wrinkles on your forehead.
Your brow lift results are long-lasting but not permanent. After several years you may begin to experience skin laxity due to the effects of gravity. Avoiding direct sunlight without sunscreen and using dermatologist-recommended products will ensure your brow lift results last as long as possible.
Is There Any Downtime With a Brow Lift?
Depending on the specific brow lift procedure, brow lifts typically have a recovery time of one to two weeks, with sutures removed after one week. Full recovery may take several months, but you will be free to return to your daily activities much before then.
